We're looking at moving back to Florida. DH grew up in Miami area and I lived 10 years in the Keys (Islamorada) many moons ago. We have a 3 year old so schools are of importance but I tend to gravitate towards Montessori/Steiner etc.
Here's what we're looking for. A bikeable town, live/work/school within biking distance. Near water a huge plus. Would like to be near Miami due to extended family. Looking at the Grove but not sure that's the best fit for us.
Input appreciated. Also possibly considering Key West.

Well, we are definitely not near Miami or the keys .... we are up in the northwest Panhandle ... but we do have a pretty sweet little Montessori school South Walton Montessori Academy | Providing Children a Foundation for Lifelong Learning

.... and we've got plenty of water around ... rare coastal dune lakes, the Choctawhatchee Bay, Rivers, Springs, and of course the gulf aka the Emerald Coast!

We are lacking in the employment area, mostly seasonal jobs. However, we've got new airport scheduled to open in 2010. Perhaps this will help provide some new jobs and spark new industry down the road.

Best of luck with your search.
