Well I don't consider this a negative. Miami has a lot of multi national corporations based there, in addition the second largest amount of foreign banks based there outside of New York City. It's a economic plus for the city and the state.
I find this type of comment funny considering they live in a state founded by the Spaniards and named FLORIDA!

I lived in Miami , well Davie just north of Miami, and it was great there except I was looking for a more laid back area.
I worked mostly in Miami and even though I am as white as Polly Purebread never had a problem getting along with anyone or having a good time.
Great place just not enough open area for me.

That being said, I never heard anything in either area that made me think there was some kind of rivalry.
