Talking lot size and shape and so on

What do you want? Some people want lots big and others do not. Shape depends on whether you like rectangular lots (I prefer them) or don't mind an odd shape as long as you can use it as is....... Having said this, I think most people like regular rectangular lots that are medium to large. A medium lot may be 6,000 square feet or more at least for my area of Saint Petersburg. That could be 60 feet by 100 or 50 feet by 120.... This is bigger than many city lots up north like NJ and the same as some suburban ones. A larger yard can probably be 8,000 square feet or more or whatever you think is large. Large lots--if paired with good houses in good neighborhoods-are obviously worth more than the same house on a smaller lot. If you buy a lot only in a place, the bigger ones cost more. Of course location counts, but I am discussing equivalent properties with the only difference being the size of the lot. (However remember that some people hate yard work and prefer to get a smaller lot by choice.) Generally corner lots ARE worth more because most people seem to prefer them.....yet a sizeable minority like me prefer a lot in the middle of the block, not at the end. The best deal financially (only) would be a large corner lot with a good house in a desirable neighborhood......and the worst deal would be a tiny non-corner city lot with a crummy house in a slum area. However people buy what they want if they can and there is no accounting for taste. LOL
