I was able to obtain other employment,that was ugly as well,I was worked like a mule,9,10,11 hours straight,in a fast paced environment,with no breaks,if I had to use the restroom,forget it,hold it!! (no lie) I was yelled at,cussed at by inarticulate hillbilly methhead folks. My "boss" was not even an american! I can can go on for hours about the employment,it's NOT easy or pleasant. I am out of this county just as soon as humanly possible. I DO NOT recommend to anyone who wants to raise children,go to surrounding areas ie; clearwater ,tampa, orlando etc.

I was in Lakeland for 4 days in October 2017 staying at The Terrace Hotel, other than that "sanctuary" place/area "you can have it" in a matter of speaking about the people, some of the business greed (for instance from a pizzeria very close by the Walmart in S. Lakeland I wanting two slices of pizza but because it was after 4pm they only sell personal pies = extortion imho and I in kind told them I wanted slices and I left NOT because of the $ cost difference but because of principle and wasn't going to be manipulated) and driving on I4 between Tampa and Kissimmee even on the non-rush hours which makes driving in my state of NJ seem like a breeze in comparison.

To me it's the "land of duhhhhhhhh" sorry.

Lakeland is great except for this time of year when people from up north come down for the winter.

Well if ya don't live in the richer hoods it is rough at best.

First post from a "disgruntled" poster - just rolling my eyes at this. Your experience has nothing to do with the city, this is your personal problems. Wherever else you go, I am willing to bet you will feel the same.
