I'm from the year 2019. Florida's population has increased by 2.5 million people.

Jacksonville seems to have the most potential for population growth. Many people find much of the peninsula of Florida overpopulated. Jacksonville is the last of the big 4 metros that haven't suffered from overcrowding.

Unfortunately, Jacksonville has the saddest Downtown of the big 4. The life has been sucked out of the Northbank in particular, while the Downtown's of Miami, Orlando, Tampa and St. Petersburg continue to boom.

Population growth might be good for Jacksonville to revive it a bit.

Jax has a pretty downtown skyline with the St. John's river and the bridges but unfortunately, downtown is totally dead and the once decent Jacksonville Landing is deserted. It is a shame.

I lived in Jax for over 10 years but live in Orlando now. Those two cities are like day and night when it comes to entertainment, shopping, things to do and people. We were so bored in Jax but have so much entertainment here, more than we can take advantage of!

It seems like there's a drastic culture shift once you past i-4 in Florida.

Jax might as well be in south Georgia IMHO.

The thing with FL it's really like 3 states in one, like TN is - west TN in nothing like central TN around Nashville, and east TN around Knoxville and Chatt, is nothing like the other two regions of TN.

Upstate NY is nothing like NYC. Austin is nothing like Houston. Mobile is nothing like Birmingham. Shreveport-Bossier might as well be in Arkansas and is nothing like NOLA.

Yeah well same can be said about North Florida in general. People who are not familiar with Florida just assume it's all tourists and retirees when a good chunk of the state has generations of Floridians. The Northside definitely leans more South GA but the Southside of Jax feels very Floridian to me.

Agreed, around Ponte Vedra on the southside is far more Florida-like. Northside feels like a ghetto in some areas, people on the southside NEVER go to the northside.
