I agree with the job number but why would the person need $200K saved up?

It's not true that if people come down with less, they will be miserable, they just may be limited in what they can do. Not all people need to follow an extravagant life in order to be happy.

I drove down here with nothing but my car and $3K. Even though I do not like it here, it's not because I don't have $200K in the bank.

I don't plan on staying here for more than a few months. Not really sure why I moved here. The land is all flat, no good places to hike, not too much to see, too many tourists, too many old people, not enough culture from what I can see, and man, when it's hot, it's hot.

Call me ignorant, call me a whining New Yorker like the rest of them. I'm perfectly fine with it.

This thread is ONLY about people who have moved to Florida successfully.

Many of us have.

Maybe you did not do any research before you moved.

Therefore please do not blame Florida for YOUR mistakes.

I believe you have to stay there forever for it to be considered successful.

If you even had an inkling that Florida has mountains, no tourists, no old people and a lack of what you call culture, plus the fact that you have apparently recently discovered it is hot here, you apparently did zero research before moving. Yep, I'd call that ignorant for sure.

Thats just the way it seems on this forum. It seems that anytime someone decieds that Florida is not for them and wants to leave their told you didnt do your homework, what were you expecting. Some people are even called ignorant. Anyone can successfully move to Florida. Its really not that hard. Millions of people have done it thru the years. Not everybody stays. People leave for all kinds of different reasons. One of the biggest cheerleaders on this thread when it started only stayed for 6 months and went back to N.Y.. I believe she called it pergertory. I dont recall anyone jumping down her throat.

He's posted the same thing in multiple threads, He claimed that he didn't know Florida would be flat, hot, and lacking culture.. Seriously ? You had to MOVE to Florida to realize those 3 things ?

I have to agree with you Ken...My take is its terrible that people should not be able to voice how they truly feel or felt about living in a particular place, now there is a way to go about it...We moved from a NY hot spot so to speak in NC and honestly we are from Brooklyn NY and I have to say the 1st year seemed to be great, but as the next year progressed and we got to know people and other things it just wasnt the place for us We hated living there...I would not go onto that forum and voice my opinion just because lets face it, people are going to jump all over whoever posts what they don't agree with...I did So much Homework it wasn't even funny....Sometimes though the best experiences are those when you move for some people its a good thing for some people like us it was a Bad thing..On the other hand for our Daughter it was a Great thing regarding her issues we thought she had in school and honestly the school she attended well without them we never would have had a foundation to go further with testing and such and well Boca has been a blessing for both our kids academically ....We do not regret making that move from NJ to NC but are very happy to be here in South Florida where our family is very happy for the 1st time in a lot of years....Now that doesn't mean everyone will be happy here....What gets me is One can voice their Opinion without Bashing because what is good for me might not be good for the next person.....But no matter how you post it, people jump all of you because wow there must be something wrong with you if you dont Love it...I am speaking in General fill in the blanks....I feel that if Im a Florida Cheerleader it works for me that does not mean that there aren't a lot of issues here but show me a place where they aren't any...when I see people Bashing where we live well only because they had a bad experience does not mean that the next family might...Giving an Honest Opinion and again that is someone's opinion is just that...We love the Schools etc and works for us, doesnt mean we are insane...lol and to tell people NOT to move there for whatever reason just makes me laugh...
We are here 3 years now and well everyone knows how we feel
