Now, while I like warm weather, the too hot/humid days of Florida can sometimes be unbearable...but I guess a swim in the pool, a dash to the beach im my sandals ans socks and summer shorts ought to help out somewhat...of course I can't do this in Naples as a certain lady down there is offended by fellas like me in shorts...so I've got to pick and choose where I go to cool off at that time of year!

If I find the right spot then I prefer Florida summers!

Gotta Love you Miles!

Florida summers.

But I what I hate the most is those short winter days. Sunsets at 4:30pm I cannot even stand this time of the year here in Florida, and I'm being serious, I hate it. I can't wait for March 14th!!!

What do you mean Princess? You just dislike the early signs of dark? You can escape that by doing exactly what you said but burrrrrrrrr it would be freezing there.

When does it start getting dark in the summer time?

Let me risk going slightly off topic and state the best of both worlds would be:

1. A Miami winter
2. A San Diego summer

Of course, those who prefer cold wouldn't like that at all.....but for those that like warmth without much humidity (like me)..the above scenario would be IDEAL!!!!!

I would take coastal CA most anytime of the year except those weeks of fires or mudslides. I would say in FL if you are talking Daytona or St Augustine from Oct to mid May is delightful. I'd also take Denver front range weather from mid April to the end of Oct.. All are much better than NYC or South Florida a greater portion of the year if you want mild dry weather IMHO.

Around 8pm. I like daylight, especially for driving.

So, it is the exact same thing as NYC - someone on CD said it was lighter there for at least an hour longer and I thought really it is still the east coast but if you say so.

I don't mind the dark as long as it is warm, but I do see your point with driving there aren't many lights there - it is a little wierd.

during winter it stays lighter out longer here. I think the earliest it gets dark here in the winter is 6pm, during the days around the winter solstice (dec 21st).. but during the summer it is about the same 8-8:30

At least in South Florida, it gets darker later than it does in to North. The sun is still shining at 5 PM.
