New York winters... bring it on...

But even if you walked around in just your undies, it's still too dam hot down here...

Florida Summers for me...........
I've been in Florida many summers and at one time owned a condo there.
All's that means to me is I can be at the beach more, swim more in the ocean and pool.......
The AC's work fine in the stores and at home. Its really a non-issue.
Winters however........Ice and snow.........
I hate being cold. I'm kinda done shoveling after December......I'm just never warm enough.
Worst thing is being so stuck inside. I like to get outdoors as much as I can.

long - I have 2 boys here in NYC - my boys are very active - baseball, basketball and everything in between - my schedule with them is extremely busy, I imagine not a whole lot will change with that - what I do expect to change is when those activities are done and we come home at 7:30 - they can play outside in the yard until dinner is done or it is time to take a shower and go to bed - there will be no more cabin fever hopefully - I know that Florida is not utopia by any means but Florida definitely solves a huge portion of our problems. We are indoors all the time and because I limit the game playing they get really bored and it is just too damn expensive to keep them not bored - it is lose lose for me here. Good luck with what you choose!

Thats a pretty special place where you live as far as wintertime activities go. Why would you spend most of the winter month's inside? Believe it or not, people stay inside because of the heat here in the summer. It's one of those things only you can answer for yourself. You'll be leaving behind a whole lot more than just the cold weather. Good Luck

Well I guess everyone keeps forgetting that Florida is a few hundred miles from north to south.

Where I am it hit 90 once in April last year, April 2008 never hit 90, April 2007 hit 90 one time and it was the last day of the month.

In May it hit 90 ten times. In May 2008 also 10 times. May 2007 12 times.

It hit 90 10 times in October and it was one of the hottest Octobers on record. Oct 2008 it never hit 90, Oct 2007 it hit 90 five times.

So if we go by April and October it hit 90 or higher 17 out of 549 days over the last 3 years. I would say that is not common at all.

If we go by May and October it would be 47 out of 552 days. Less than 10% of the time would not be considered VERY COMMON.

Good post........as usual.
Both Florida and NY are big states, with vast regional differences in weather.
