Tallahassee is always a good bet for a family city.

I had heard Tallahassee is a great place, I'm not sure if there is much surf there though. A couple things that came to mind through researching, with the high humidity there, do people struggle with mold issues? Also, we were lucky that the chinese drywall never made it over here, but I remember reading it being a problem in Florida a while back. Is there a way to find out if a house is affected, would it be in a disclosure statement. Thanks again!! Angela

True, but the nice beaches are close enough by for a day trip to any that you like.

Mold is an issue in any humid climate, but its not any more of an issue here than other places.

Tallahassee is as far as you can get from a surfable coastline and still be in the state. Apalachee Bay is so shallow, and you need to get clear to Cape San Blas or even Panama City Beach to take advantage of even the limited surfing opportunities the Gulf side has.
