I'm looking to buy into a mobile or manufactured home community. I would like to own the property and it also being an all age community. Interested cities or surrounding areas: Ocala, Winter Springs, Lakeland, Spring Hill. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

HI UB, I have a neice in Lakeland, but the only thing I can tell you about the area is that it's a bit more expensive then some areas in central Fla. We're also interested in the Ocala/Silver Springs area and I've gone way back in the threads on this board and found a bit of info about the area. Ocala may be the most reasonable price wise. I've found a site that shows the houses and mobile homes for sale there. If you just type in~Ocala4Sale you'll be able to find something in just the price range for you. It appears that lot rent in that area is about half what it is in a lot of areas. Good luck with your search and keep us posting about the new things you find out about the area.

Smile mobil home areas with land

I prefer a city/suburban home with not too much land, but I can understand what you want. There are many many places here in Florida to own the land with a mobile home. I will tell you about 2 areas I know that have cheaper areas and most own their land and there are lots of mobile homes. This is considered mostly a "low rent" district, but can be very liveable if you like the lifesyle and do not have a lot of money. Both are near New Port Richey and not far from Tampa. They are known as Moon Lake and Shady Hills. It is possible to buy an acre or more of land plus an older mobile home for under $75,000. Heck I have read of lots of bargains in the area IF you could consider living there. There are probably even cheaper areas, but these places have the advantage of being near Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, the beach, and tourist areas. You need a car and some roads are not too good but it is rural and semi-rural yet near so much.
