I just found SOME of those people DIDN'T want to adapt, but rather change the place. Also were most of them so "in your face" and so overbaering........it was really hard to deal with at times, and ruined it for so many others.
This is so true! They come for one reason only (don't like the cold, usually) and then expect things to be exactly the way they were up north. And when things aren't, there's no end to the griping. The in-your-face thing gets old, too.

I tell people now, if they are moving, just for the "cheaper" of things, but still longing for the state or area, they are moving out of in the first place....DON'T!
Exactly! And how about this: they leave cause they don't like snow & ice, and no sooner do they get here than they're complaining about "missing the change of seasons." Huh? Then why are you here? Why not go back up there and you can shovel all that change-of-seasons off your driveway every winter. But no, they like the seasons, just not the cold. makes no sense.

Isn't the real story here some people are going to be negative no matter WHERE they live??

I dated a man one time, he was older then I am, all he could do was complain, I wanted to slap his face I was so sick of the complaining...I tried talking to him about his negative attitude which didn't work...then I dropped him...

LIFE IS TOO SHORT !!!

I totally agree with you. Thank God for the ignore list. I already have 15 people on it.

Default not WV!

Thanks - I just registered and didn't know about the ignore function. Great idea.

It's increasingly hard to find a place that's not growing fast. Even West Virginia isn't immune! The eastern panhandle is getting built up fast with Washington DC commuters. Try moving to northern Michigan. Then again, our friends there are saying it's getting too crowded, and so they dream about moving northward...

Let's try not to be abusive. It never hurts to solicit opinions, even from strangers. Life is full of trade-offs. Good luck, Muggy, whatever you decide!

Hmmm.... if I could afford a luxury like a shrink, I think I'd be quite happy no matter where I was!
