ANyone know of a good way to get rid of red ants

They are all over our lawn, you leave a shoe or something out there and go back in like 2 minutes and its completely covered

Any home remedys or stuff you can buy at a store?

What do you do

Do you have visible mounds in the grass or is your lawn completely covered with them? If you have mounds, try picking some stuff up at the home improvement store or "wally world". The bagged stuff works good for mounts, but be generous with the amount of material you sprinkle. If they are all over the grass, you can use the same stuff and put it in a spreader. If nothing else, you may want to get a single treatment from a Lawn Care company. PS. We just had more rain than we had in weeks, our ants are happy too : )

All the home stores down there carry a product called Amdro. Sprinkle the powder on the mounds and it will take care of them.

My advice, buy a spreader and do the entire lawn, you should notice a difference...sometimes mounds may not even be on your property. We had fire ants inside our screen room, no mound anywhere close by. We bought "dial a bug" and sprayed the perimeter. They've been gone for 2 weeks and we had this problem for MONTHS (we were just too cheap to buy the stuff we knew worked...) I'm not trying to sound like a commerical, really. I worked for a pest control company for a few years. Wish you luck! : )

You should be able to find it at Home Depot. You hook it up to your hose and spray away.

All Florida lawns have ants all the time. You could use lots of insecticide, but that may not be good if you have pets or small children. If you want your ants ID'd, take some to your local county extension agent. They can help identify the type of ants you have. This article by the Unicersity of Florida may help.

Cool Ant War

A cement lawn painted green would work, or a flame thrower from the local army navy store would work just fine
