Thanks for the help Beachmouse!! That helped a lot. Thinking maybe we'll just spend a week in a hoteland travel around that area looking. But it sounds and looks like thats a nice place. The temperature won't bother me...I'm in ice-box, wisconsin right now where it is just now started to nibble at the 50's.

If you are up in the northern part of Florida you might want to give Tallahassee a look, not sure what the job situation is like but when i stayed there for a month back in the 70's i thought it to be a very beautiful city..

If you mean Fort Walton and Destin they are fine places for beaches but not so great for jobs.

There's not really any rhyme or reason to which areas get hit more. But if you're on the coast it's generally going to be worse than if you're inland.

We need a nice neighborhood that isn't "Little Mexico" or "Little Cuba" Now I'm not racist but I would like to walk around the town and not see a taco stand on every corner. So any suggestions?
Try New Port Richey lol.

I think "compelled to reply" was just kidding about New Port Richey as its everything Florida shouldnt be, basically part of a very congested string of bungalow parks along the dreaded hwy 19 that is endless traffic lights, fast food joints, car dealerships, big box stores, shopping plazas etc, that go on for 50 miles or more from Clearwater to Weeki Wachee, 3 lanes of constant traffic chaos of which Port Richey and New Port Richey are communities along the way, and just about no water access as they've built houses and seawalls along the entire coast so forget about beaches.Horrible area.
My Mom and Dad live in one of these mega bungalow communities (Spring Hill)so i have to endure the area a couple of times a year.

Lots of nice places can be found in the general area all depends what you like but i'd be looking for something a bit more rural East of I-75, actually i'd be looking Pensacola,Tallahassee, St Augustine areas if i was relocating to Florida.
