I'm getting paid more here than in FL and our house is 3000 sq ft. Our rent is $1200, and includes lawn care too.

Asheville and Scranton, PA don't have much in common.

We were paying approximately $1100/mo. for a 2/2 apartment in Orlando. It was less than 1200 sq ft I believe. Now we're paying $1250 for a 3,000 sq ft home on a large lot in a beautiful subdivision in Asheville.

Default Move to FL, left FL, moving back to FL

My question is directed to those of you who moved to Florida from elsewhere; then left Florida BECAUSE YOU DID NOT LIKE IT HERE, then moved BACK TO FLORIDA because wherever you went wasn't what you thought it would be either.

After all of those moves, where is your mindset now? Do you like Florida any better or do you still dislike it?

Are you staying here? or where are you going next?

Thanks for replies. I am really curious about this as I hear more stories than one would think on this topic.

My husband and I moved from Florida to Alabama because of family and now are ready to move back to Florida. We loved it when we were there and are looking forward to returning to retire. It gets too cold in Alabama for us.

Isn't it strange how the people from Florida are all so nice up here? I don't get it. Is it that the nice ones move away? Or is it something in the air or water where the ones that move away seem to be nice, but perhaps only when they are away from Florida?

Here's a pic of our street in Knoxville.

I met some neighbors yesterday from Ocala, there's a guy from Orlando I saw 2 days ago. So even though we're 600 miles away from Central FL, it's like it's familiar b/c so many of us are from the same place, lol. I still cant get over how friendly everyone is. The person who hired my wife is from Orlando, and then, the freakin VP of the business called my wife to say hello and how glad he is she is coming to work for them! The freakin VP! He's also from.....Orlando. Everyone we meet is from Orlando or somewhere in FL.

The weather is fantastic! Low 80's during the day and a cool high 50's at night. No haze either! Very crystal clear days thus far!

I miss my family and friends in FL, but I have really grown to appreciate all the things up here that are harder to find in FL.
