It's a one story or ranch house. In the US, bungalow generally refers to houses built to a very specific architectural style, generally during the 1900s-1940s. They're normally but not always made of brick, are narrow but deep in footprint (a ranch house has a wide but shallow footprint) and have certain common details, including a large amount of wood trim, and sometimes paneling.

Montreal is a big city. The weather, overall, is quite different.

Check out Preston Hollow neighborhood. Close to Suncoast Parkway (direct to Tampa), 1/2 acre lots, very quiet (car goes by once every 20 min or so). WIth the economy the way it is, you can find affordable homes. Deed restrictions are actually a good thing to have in this area - trust me!

Low rent mobile homes right across the road, I can think of better places.
