Yes, yet another *moving* question. I have read many threads on here, mostly have been a lurker for some time. I apologize if this question has been asked more than once, but is Miami as bad as it seems, or does it get a bad rap for crime?

Also, is the Tampa area a decent place for living? I know all reas have crime, but I guess this is more of a question for the locals...

Plus, I'm a huge fan of the Marins & (Devil) Rays, so being near either one of those teams is a plus for me!

Thanks again!

Not meant to be mean but coming from Baltimore you will get the normal culture shock moving to Miami.

With that said, coming from a person who has traveled all over this country, Baltimore is one of those places I never felt safe in. I have never felt unsafe in Miami although I would never live in Miami myself.

If I were you, I would look in the Tampa area handsdown over Miami.

Do your research and look at the Florida success stories thread for those who have successful made moves to Florida.

I went to Baltimore for a couple weeks. Can't same too much since it was just a vacation thing, but I didn't feel any different in Baltimore than in Miami. I didn't feel safe in either cities but not as bad as Miami.

I'm the complete opposite of you, I want to get out of here and move to Baltimore, not the city but the surrounding suburbs.
