Has anyone tried it? I did some reading on it and there seems to be some confusion as to whether or not it is the same as basa, and I love basa.

Nope, but I did see it in the frozen fish case at the store yesterday. My friend and I were shopping together, stopped to look at it and then looked at each other "What's THAT?"... never heard of it.

Google it. It is Basa and it is loaded with toxins. I wouldn't eat it at all. Sorry for the bad news. They shouldn't be selling it here in our country.

Dunno. Wikipedia says:
Despite its name, iridescent shark, Pangasius hypophthalmus is not a shark, but a catfish. This fish is also known as Siamese shark or sutchi catfish in the aquarium hobby or as tra, swai (from Thai ปลาสวาย "plaa sawaaj"), or striped catfish in the food fish market, and occasionally incorrectly as basaand panga (these names should be rather used for Pangasius bocourti and Pterogymnus laniarius, respectively).
It's common in stores around here. I've had it once. It's not bad: mild and very buttery. My daughter really liked it, but my husband didn't, so I haven't bought it since.

They're caught in their natural waters, then sprawn in what are called farms, so that they'll be free of toxins.

We have a local fish market that is really good. Typically, they have a variety of fresh caught local fish, but they also sell swai, which I haven't tried. Why would anyone buy fish from some foreign place if they had a choice? Beats me.
