I cook half of the time. I put a lot of effort in my cooking. I am creative. I love food.

When we cook, he does the cooking and I clean. I'm not good at making the food, so I figure the least I can do is clean up his mess.

My husband and I took turns cooking when we first got married because we were both working in the early years...After we retired my husband took over all the cooking...He loves to cook...It's an "art-form" to him....He wants to publish his own cookbooks someday...Plus he loves to grow and can his own veggies and he's much better at baking than I am...Last year my husband was diagonosed with pancreatic cancer and I decided to step in and help out with the cooking again...I had no idea that it would make me so happy....I love "spreading my wings" and being creative in the kitchen again...Today we take turns cooking our "old standbys" and new dishes that we create and invent etc.....Sometimes we cook together and this is fun....We help each other with "prep work" and both do clean-up.....My Dad was active in the kitchen when I was growing up and had a "hand" in everything. When my Mom passed away my Dad knew how to cook and clean and take care of himself...I was sure proud of him....I'm sure proud of my husband too. Hope he can beat the cancer and "stick around" for many many years to come.

Same arrangement we have. Luckily I loooove to cook (and he likes to eat ). I even enjoy the clean-up. Is that weird?

I do the vast majority of the cooking ( hate it but Hubby works and I don't so it seems more than fair) and he will fill the dishwasher and I will clean the kitchen ( cooker, surfaces, sink etc.. ) as my standards are a little higher than his !
