We don't really have a specific dish here but, my favourite local meal is authentic carne asada tacos, real deal, legit mexican tacos with a firery red salsa and onion/cilantro. We have 49 taqurias in our fair city of only 80 thousand people, its pretty amazing. Ok, its all your turn

a pic of what I am talking about court. of flickr.

I'm in Chicagoland.

It's definitely the pizza though the taste and preferences vary. I had pizza from a 5 star rated joint recently that really rated down there with Pizza Hut. Midwest Pizza Hut to boot (the ones down south are better).

Italian beef and Italian ice are great. I don't care for Chicago style hot dogs on a regular basis.

Never crazy on the Chicago Pizza but the Italian beef is great. I have made it at home, very good.

Two favorites of mine as well, especially the Hot Brown as served at its birthplace.
