Isn't it funny when you see someone cooking on tv shows (or any other place!) and people clearly hate the food when they taste it?

Then they go "mmmm, tastes terrific!" when it is so clear they meant "oooh, tastes terrible!!!"

I have seen it many times, it is just hilarious... What about you guys?

We have a local cooking show in the Phoenix area called Valley Dish. Best part is it's live. Local chefs. Housewives with exotic recipes. Pet videos. Remotes from places that people go to escape the heat The hostess is named Tram Mai and is an absolute kick. "Umm.. The Anaheim chiles make it POP!" She hasn't made a face yet, but I'm waiting. This woman will eat anything and say it's delicious. (I'm also half waiting for someone to slice off a thumb. Keep wondering if there's a first aid kit somewhere off camera.)

My fav cooking show on cable when I was in Australia was broadcast out of some retirement Community's garage in Florida. The "chef" was a great old "geezer" and his assistant was along the lines of Fran the nanny - great show, great food and hysterical to watch.

I do remember someone telling me the old guy had passed on, but for the life of me I can't recall the name of the show. I clearly recall they used Ralph's market a lot.

Some of their tasting sessions were funny, but at least on that one if it was ugh they said so LOL

There was a national tv host many years ago who was honest. If he didn't like something, he'd say so. Don't remember who though.

Makes me think about Giada and her granita, lol. Sunny Anderson had one of those moments recently, too.

Rachael and Guy play it off well but I think I can tell when they don't particularly care for a dish. But with both of them, it's their travel shows - $40 A Day and Triple D. Rachael will find something to say about the "texture" and Guy overcompensate by continuing to find something positive to say.

When Rachael really likes something, she will hum a little tune and say a few things about the dish and the different layers. Guy just looks like he just finished having sex for about 5 seconds.

No, the look on his face lasts for that long. He gets silent as opposed to never shutting up.

The Galloping Gourmet was terrific. We used to watch it during the summer when we were off from school. Fourteen years old and we were watching a guy get crocked while he taught us about clarified butter.
