microwave potatos are great! they taste like baked potatos you bake in the oven.

I have a plastic cover that i put over food that will blast the liquid on the side of the microwave while cooking stuff that is liquidy. no mess.

its great for softening up bread products when the bread becomes a bit stale. put in microwave and it softens it.

When I cook, I make much more than I can eat in one sitting so I don't have to put in the time and effort to do so again for a few days. I find myself very limited on the amount of free time I have while I'm working my 10 day hitch. The benefit is that I get four consecutive days off afterward. I'd be lost without my microwave.

Ask me the last time I've used my toaster since going modified paleo...

1996, when I sold my second home. None of the houses I've owned since then has had a built-in, and I never bothered to buy a countertop model. In any case, my current kitchen is too small to accommodate one.

My question is, how often do people actually use it for cooking something? It was supposed to make the oven and stovetop obsolete, but I only use it to reheat, or maybe make a cup of tea.

Oh, and I last used mine last night, to heat up leftovers -- as usual.

About 30 min. ago. to make instant iced coffee for my breakfast. Zapped 1/4 C water, poured that over sugar and instant coffee mix to dissolve it, added cold water and ice. Yummm!
