I was at Mike Ditka's and Michael Jordin's and Harry Carey's. Hmmm. Wish I was at Paul Prodhomme or Emeril or Paula Deen. Saw her place from the outside. Long line around the block waiting for the tour.

I am wary of celebrity chef owned restaurants where the celebrity runs it in absentia.

I would rather eat in a restaurant where the chef comes out and talks to me. That said, Wolfgang Puck's Cut really was good.

I made it to Paula Dean's place in Savannah back in April and I must say that it was the most over-hyped place I have ever been to. You pay $14 for a small buffet with three entrees, probably six sides and a tiny dessert.

The food wasn't bad but how many Southern restaurants offer buffets that are a lot better for a fraction of the price.

What bothered me was that the "back up" pans of hot food were sitting at room temperature almost guaranteeing that the food would be cold for someone later in the day.

A much better option in Georgia was the Ole Times Country Buffet in Brunswick which was some of the finest country cooking that you will ever find. Ten to fifteen entrees and at least twenty sides, all served piping hot for under $10. And no obnoxious waits if front of the place while Paula lets the bus tours come in before the people who have been there an hour.

You all seen this?

Famed 'Seinfeld Soup Nazi' Al Yeganeh a no-show at reopening of The Original Soup Man
BY Barry Paddock
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

"The 'Soup Nazi' was nowhere in sight at the reopening of his original store Tuesday.

And believe it or not, the customers were disappointed.

"That was the fun part of it, watching him yell at other people, and some people deliberately trying to **** him off," said Richie Hartt, 52, an electrician from Old Bridge, N.J., who waited in line an hour to bring a lobster bisque home to his wife."

Sam Choi's got a restaurant in Honolulu I enjoyed. He makes a garlic-crusted dungeoness crab.. delicious! I don't know that he's a celebrity or not.. he's popular in the islands, and maybe as a cook/chef within that community?

Lidia Bastianich's Lidia's-Kansas City. I've heard the other locations are good, too, but I live in KC and have only been to that one.
