I love Lidia!

An old friend of mine used to be head sommelier at her NYC restaurant.

Also, she whipped up some concoction when she was on one of Martha Stewart's old shows that made me, for the first time, seek out a recipe. I found it a million years ago but now I substitute bacon with turkey sausage because my husband doesn't eat red meat. Here it is: //www.city-data.com/forum/recip...mushrooms.html

In HS we used to hang out at Mike Schmidt's Hoagies.

If I remember correctly, one could eat a hoagie, fries, and free-refill sodas for under $5.

Good food!

Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill in the Atlantis Hotel Nassau, Bahamas.

My brother's wedding dinner party was held there. The Shrimp Cocktails and Lamb Chops were amazing!

Don Shula Steakhouse, Miami Lakes, FL.

I love that place! I try to get down there once or twice a month.

Toby Keith's in OKC is fair at best, although his fried bologna sandwich is pretty good......but the one I make at home is better.......... Had dinner at Neely's in Memphis last fall.....while it was good, it was Memphis style and I prefer Texas BBQ so I wasn't really that impressed. I think the problem is that in addition to being a good cook, they have to have "stage presence" to be a TV chef. There are lots and lots of chef's out there that are far better cooks than anyone on TV. I prefer to find someone local who tells me about a particular cafe or restaurant that only the locals have heard about. I love it when I pull up to a local place and the parking lot is full..........I know that good food is just a few minutes away.

Yum! J will eat bacon, but I'll have a harder time passing off the mushrooms on him.
