I do all the cooking for my husband and I (just the 2 of us)
I have given up getting him to cook anything. If I don't
cook we go out ...
I wonder what would happen if I start cooking really bad ??
Would he start cooking occasionally out of desperation??

If he is anything like my husband, no, he would not.
Well I enjoy cooking for my wife and kids. I probably do 90% of the cooking. I work out of my house so I'm home most days and have to time to cook, plus I owned several restaurants so I've always loved cooking for people.
My wife cooks but most time I can't tell what it is. When I ask her she says just shut up and eat. I tell her that's going to be the name of our next restaurant. You order a burger, you get a hot dog, just shut up and eat. You order pasta, you get pork chops and gravy, just shut up and eat. You order meatloaf, you get fish, just shut up and eat.
I think it will work out good if I hire raspy voice waitresses that sling the food at you while telling ya to just shut up and eat.
Would he re-heat something you doubled up on? Maybe cook big on Sunday and freeze and he can easily just pop something in the oven or microwave. In all likelihood, you would have to check it, but he can get it started. Easy enough to add salad or Italian bread.
I agree with childfree35. If you could just get him to be responsible for the meal for 3 days a week, then you aren't cooking and he's free to cook, order out, or go out, etc. Some people just don't want to cook, but I think your real problem is that you feel he does not care if he makes you happy or not.

That's a mind game. Nothing positive is going to result from this.

Substitute "husband" with wife" and you will get my situation. And that includes even heating up stuff that I have prepared in advance.
So when I get home at 8 pm after 12 hours, I have to cook. It is a real sticking point to me. Therefore, when I work late, I just stop for dinner on the way home.
