A friend has just visited the "Training Restaurant" at our local newly opened Culinary Institute for lunch and she said it was fantastic!

I wondered if any members on this forum had dined at one of these restaurants in your area and if so, what your experiences were

Here are some sample menus that I found just browsing some of the bigger cities:

Houston:

Here are some pretty good ones:

Chicago:

Kendall College
The Dining Room at Kendall College | School of Culinary Arts

I strongly recommend the Grand Buffet for $25 which is a monthly event.

Campbell River, BC:

And of course, there is always the Culinary Institute of America:

DD attended a technical high school that had a culinary school, which she was in.
They have a bistro, which is wonderful!
Sorry there is no link to it.

Yes, we have one in Central Islip.

I haven't gone in a few years. Thanks for jogging my memory.

I'll have to see if they still have a big buffet at lunch. It was wonderful!

The college in a town I lived in had a culinary arts department, and presented several dinners a year with tickets sold to the general public. It wasn't a buffet, it was a sit-down meal with servers. Each dinner through the year had a different ethnic twist.

In the 60's, the only place backpackers could afford to eat in Stockholm was at the cooking school, which was open every evening. It was awful. It was like eating off hospital trays.

I was a judge at A Wingfest in Chicago, and the Culinary institue made some kickazz wings. They got my vote.

I've had lunch at the hospitality/culinary college within my university and the hotel run by cornell university although I don't know if student handled the food

I did eat at the CIA restaurant near Napa and had a really enjoyable meal

There is a restaurant available for the Scottsdale Culinary Institute (Le Cordon Bleu school) - menu online looks a little old, but reasonable

Menu_L'Academie

The Arizona Culinary School has a lunch time restaurant as well called Du Jour

Don't know why i've never thought of them as a place to eat .... then again there are so many restaurants out here I still have a long list of the ones I want to try

I am in Charleston SC and my husband took out 11 yr old daughter to ours. The had a very fancy 5 course French meal. They both said the food was amazing. You do have to make a reservation and dress up to go. He plans to make that the place he takes our daughters to on all of their father/daughter dates.

Vita Nova, the University of Delaware's culinary department restaurant, is excellent. I have eaten there many times and I am never disappointed.
