It's called tuna salad. Recall that we're limited to a dollar. In practice, I'd make a couple of sandwiches, some tomato or grapefruit juice to wash ot down, a couple of hard boiled or coddled eggs, and whatever else struck my fancy. Although I've never done this, the eggs should be very tasty mixed into the salad. The most important consideration is to have a satisfying meal.

well, so 4 large potatoes would be $1.50. peel, dice, boil, drain.

a lb of kielbasa is $2.50, but I always get them when they're on clearance for $1.50 and throw them in the freezer till needed. Dice, brown, add chopped onion ($1.50/lb from farmer's market, so $.18) and 2 diced jalapeno (free from the garden).
Add the potatoes and pan fry till the potatoes are browned. Add 2 eggs that have been beaten ($1/6 from Dollar Tree, so .33). Stir till eggs have set. Add salt & Pepper.

Lettuce is $1.50/head. Tomatoes and cucumbers are free from our mini garden. Make a salad.

Ice water to drink.

So for a family of 5 I could do it for $5.01.

Go catch some fish, use fruits and veggies that are grown/picked by me or given to me and a side of rice. Basically, I'd be paying for the rice and prep ingredients.
