What foods or spices do you find hard to digest? Which foods or spices seem to upset your stomach? I've been unable to eat more than a child's portion of food in recent years. I eliminate thinks like bread (which i love) to leave room for other things. I find grits hard to digest and rice very easy on the stomach.

Bay leaf.
Cucumber, which I love - seems to stay very long in my stomach.

Garlic, certain herbs in Italian food, beef, gravy, ketchup, onion, chocolate, Mexican. It doesn't stop me from eating them though. Just pass the Pepcid.

I love onions, but they do not love me.

Black pepper is not digestible. We made the switch to white pepper with same flavor just easier on the tummy. Jalapenos are not problem for me raw or cooked. Bell peppers must be raw or I can't handle them.

I like my V-8 juice and all things tomato. But, I suspect the oregano in spaghetti sauce and pizzas is to blame for my stomach distress! Hot or spicy things otherwise don't seem to bother me much.

cucumbers, roasted peppers and onions, fried food--and of all things ice cream...but only certain types, like soft serve and those with a higher cream fat content

If I eat more than two raised yeast doughnuts in a sitting, I get heartburn. I have no idea why. I eat the hottest, most highly spiced foods out there and suffer no distress. But three maple bars or raised glazed will put me down. Maybe that's a blessing in disguise, lest I abuse them.

I've never been able to eat more than one or two pancakes or waffles. Because of the syrup being so rich I'm sure! I eat spicy stuff all day. Love garlic on most everything. Onions i love but i guess they are tough on me.

I've got a pretty cast iron gut, but my beloved deep fried foods will give me acid reflux like nobody's business. Particularly acidic wines will do the same thing, and any mixed drink involving sour mix.
