these would be a great to have around the house during power outages or snow storms

also good for carrying a few in your car in case you get stuck out on the road during a snow storm or for camping trips.

I've eaten these. The roast beef is actually pretty good though there is in my opinion a fairly strong chemical or preservative aftertaste.

Aftertaste aside they are a decent, relatively inexpensive option for providing a hot meal during when there is no heat source available.

Definitely sounds like a good idea to throw a couple in the car and for power outtages during winter.

Thanks for posting

I believe that they are available as both Kosher and Halal, in addition to Gentile.

The local Publix has these right now on clearance--2 for $5. I've got two now, but want to go back for more.

I'be heard only bad things about these -- my friends who've tried them say things like "these are worse than raw Muskrat."

I've tried them. They're not bad for what they are. Wouldn't hurt to keep a couple in the car for winter travel. I think actual MREs taste better, though.

We keep Mountain House freeze dried meals (2 weeks worth for each person) for emergencies.
