Not food-related, but this seems to be the only thread about weird dreams.
I had a dream entirely in Spanish. Which is odd, because I'm not a native speaker, I don't think in Spanish. I think in English and very quickly translate it in my head so that it comes out right.
Anyway, I wake up, and I must have hit a button on the remote, because a Spanish language channel was on--which explains why my dream was in Spanish.
Cheese is high in tryptophan, moreso than most foods. I think that's probably where the smoking gun lies.
A relatively crude study by the British Cheese board confirmed a high correlation to strange dreams with eating certain kinds of cheese. Stilton has had an effect on my dreams in the past.
Can The Type Of Food You Eat Influence Your Dreams?
I had some of the most powerful, delicious memorable dreams the other night, and I woke up thinking: Can the type of food you eat influence your dreams? Pretty crazy question, huh?
Anyone ever been able to see a correlation between what you ate the night before and what type of dreams you had that night?
The night I had those dreams I had eaten some salmon fillets. So if I could have dreams like that every night, and there was a correlation there, I'd eat more salmon! But, more than likely, it was a coincidence!
Or the fish came from China and was tainted with chemicals!
Wasn't sure where to put this thread, was almost tempted to put it into the Paranormal Forum, but it is food related in a way, so if the moderator wishes to transfer it there, or somewhere else, please do so!
I've found that the type of food I eat matters less than how soon before I go to sleep I eat something substantial. If I eat within about 90 minutes of going to bed, I'm going to dream a lot more than if I eat 2-3 hours before.
