Some of the most classic Thai dishes really aren't peanut related at all, they are more based on coconut milk and curries. When I think Thai food the first thing that comes to mind is green chicken curry, followed closely by tom yum soup. Maybe some pad woon sen or pad see ew.

Right: I cooked the chicken in coconut milk and then put the p-nut sauce on top.
It was greaaaat.

I'm doing some Vietnamese style pork chops this weekend, I forget what they are called the kind they sell on the street corners in Hanoi where you sit around on little plastic stools munch munch munching.

You take thin sliced pork chops and marinate 'em in fish sauce with sugar and minced lemon grass, garlic, and shallots. Then throw on the grill to char each side, serve over vermicelli or with rice with nuoc cham dipping sauce.
