I don't know what's for dinner tonight. I only know that I don't have to cook it! Friend and neighbor is fixing dinner for 7 neighbors and it will be good!

Dinner tonight will be a salad.

Last night we went to dinner at our friend's home and had their version of a traditional southern dinner:

Fried chicken
Cole slaw
Mac n cheese (yum - homemade!)
Corn bread
Green beans
Chow chow (interesting... never had it before)
Sweet tea

We took homemade biscuits per the hosts' request...

For dessert: Key Lime Pie or Chocolate Cream Pie and coffee... yum!

Enough calories for several days!

Sounds wonderful, any chance you could post the soup recipe.

A rare snowy day in Dallas! I'm going to turn the leftover chinese food into kung pao beef fried rice. Maybe I'll figure out how to make good egg drop soup too.
