LOL. That's hilarious. I had been wondering if you meant picadillo but I didn't notice the apparatus!!

We're having black bean soft tacos tonight w/ light sour cream.

OK, so last night's Chinese food dinner ended up being a Chinese food feast.

This is what happened. We both wanted chicken and broccoli. We always order TWO LARGE orders. That way, there are leftovers.

Hubby went to pick it up. Brought it home. There were TWO SMALL orders (of the chicken and broccoli and the accompanying rice).

Hubby called. As soon as he started talking, they said, "We gave you small! You ordered and paid for LARGE! Do you want us to bring them to your house?" (Keep in mind, this place does NOT deliver.)

Yes, bring it over.

So, they came with TWO LARGE orders (chicken and broccoli AND rice). When I tried to give them the small orders back -- we hadn't opened them -- they told us to keep them.

We have leftovers for the week now!

Oh, and they also gave us more fortune cookies with the second order.

I've always been afraid to try chicken and dumplings because the dumplings always look mushy to me. But I've been considering recently after hearing so many people comment how good they are. Could you share if you have a good recipe please?

I love the old fashioned style that has thick dumplings. I, however hate having to make them. LOL I have dropped frozen biscuits into broth, etc. Also, I have used this recipe. Easy easy easy, yet tastes like chicken and dumplings! It doesn't make a thick dumpling, but it tastes just like it.

Here is a good old fashioned recipe.

I'll probably be in the minority here, but I can't stand this dish. Bland and mushy are not my two favorite food qualities.

My mom never made it so I had it for the first time at a local restaurant's chicken and dumpling day because 4 of my coworkers rave over it.

growing up, i was a jerk to my mother. she wasnt a good cook and i didnt like almost anything she made. but she would make stuff for my grandpa and he would always be so happy and say how great it was. now that im an adult, i learned my lesson. anything that somebody makes and provides for me is delicious to me.
