Tonight, we ate dinner at Applebee's thanks to a wonderful gift from the parents of one of my students. As an inner-city teacher, I don't get many gifts, so when one comes my way it is really special.
I got some great Aberdeen Angus beef delivered so tonight it's Fillet Steak ( cooked "blue") with Red Wine and Shallot sauce and Pommes Dauphinoises. I can't wait.... I am doing a Snoopy dance at the moment !!! http://www.snoopy-dance.com/images/snoopy-dance.gif (broken link)
Tonight is Season's 52....a "healthy" restaurant we have here....
actually I have not cooked dinner since last wednesday, 10 days ago but I am sure we will go back to normal this Sunday once spring break is over...
for the first time in the 1.5 years or so since my mother in law moved to my area, she has made me a legitimate meal! it was "arroz con pollo" with fried sweet plantains (amarillos). it was yummy! there is a decent amount of the rice left over and some chicken.
^^^^^^^^^^I think I might very nicely ask my lovely wife if she could cook this tonight. She is from Mexico and has not made this dish in a little while. It is awesome! Heck, I might even surprise her and make it for her. Hopefully she will make her homemade tortillas de harina(flour tortillas).
I scored a ridiculously low price for pork chops, so tonight it's pork chops with sour cream mashed potatoes and a side of baked beans. Yum!
