Braised short ribs, mashed Yukon Golds, carrots braised in OJ and butter, sauteed mushrooms. (I made a sauce from the defatted pan drippings and seasoned it with onions and a hint of red peppers flakes. It was rich, deep brown, and delicious!) Washed it down with a bottle of Salice Salentino.

I had a McDonald's Angus bacon and cheese burger on the run while grocery shopping. It wasn't half bad and not only because I didn't have to cook, or because I raked most of the day. Tomorrow will be pork shoulder steaks, some sort of potato, and green beans.
