It's hard to even figure out what to make for dinner when it's so hot and muggy--don't even want to eat. The house is cool but for some reason just the heat outside effects me...sigh...think I'll make some burritos with fresh sweet cut up watermelon! Now watermelon sounds good!!

Good morning foodies.

Last night we had reheated and dressed-up chinese soup from take-out. I cooked rice noodles in it and added some heat, DH liked it. Cereal for dessert.

Tonight is pick your own adventure - cereal/hot dogs/watermelon, etc. Summer eating.

i know, I keep trying to figure out what we can have without turning on the stove and certainly not the oven. In fact I lay awake at night trying to plan the next day. We only go outside when we had to go.

In a few minutes we will leave to pick up some jar lids (I have to have) and fritos for taco salad later this week. Other than that, my air conditioned house has become my best friend. I hardly have the energy to make the beds, much less do cooking or real cleaning. You like your watermelon, I wil eat my ice cream.

Leftovers! Thought it was going to be a 15lb turkey I bought - but it is still too frozen.

While I'm still in bed, if someone on the radio just SAYS that it's humid outside, my hair immediately frizzes. I'm not even kidding.

Jeremy is a cereal addict.

One night, after dinner, I saw him sitting on the couch eating some chocolatey cereal (I think it was Reese's chocolate and peanut butter puffs). I asked, "What ARE you doing?" To which he responded, "This is really more of a dessert cereal than a morning cereal."

Funny! I'm not normally a cereal eater but I get in phases sometimes. I got a free box of cinnamon toast crunch with the Sunday paper and boy did that marketing work! I had to rush to the store and buy a big box.

My hair LIKES humidity. Extra thick, curly/wavy, dry, half-Jewish hair. It looks way better in Texas than it did in southern California. My whole life was a bad hair day until I got here!!
