Don't eat breakfast biscuits.

Breakfast is normally something lame and healthy like fruit and oatmeal or occasionally unhealthy like bacon, toast, and hash brown.

The dreaded green bean casserole with mushroom soup and crispy onions. We would otherwise have a nice fresh green vegetable, but everyone expects the other thing.
Also, cranberry jello salad, and creamed onions, which nobody really eats.

Haha. My new DIL was raised in Puerto Rico and had never had the green bean casserole before. She loves it, so we will always have to have it.

I have to add pecan pie. Though it's just about my favorite thing on earth, served warm with cream, I will only allow myself to have it once a year. Way too rich.

I tend to only do my grandma's sage, cornbread, and onion dressing at Thanksgiving, because it's a multistep pain in the butt (but so good). Everything else I might do other times throughout the year. I love green bean casserole, and make it as often as possible year round.

I had an aunt who froze tomato juice in ice cube trays and added it to glasses of tomato juice. My mother always served stuffed tomato the evening before. My wife would spend hours preparing consumee, always served cold. These dishes only appeared at Thanksgiving.

Does your family have some special Thanksgiving Only dishes?
A whole turkey.
Tater tots. (I love Tater Tots, but they bloat me and are super fattening. So I eat them only once a year. As many as I want.)
