I've had the Mexico City version once and it is very good. I look side ways at it but ate it because I was hungry and was pleasantly surprised. A few places here in FL have it.
Lucky you! They don't sell it where I live. If I get a craving, I've got to make it myself.
Don't shuck it! Put it in the microwave as is! 3-4 minutes for 1 ear, 5-6 for 2. The shucks seal the flavor in, When it's done the silks come out easy.
I love throwing it, husk and all, into the microwave. It's easy and tasty, and the clean-up is a breeze. The only problem is it takes a long time to cool down so removing the husk doesn't put blisters on our fingers, and sometimes we just can't wait. Yum!
Do you use holders or fingers?
Do you butter first, then salt and pepper?
Do you start with the thin or thick end?
Do you have the thin end left or right?
Do you start at the left or right?
Do you bite a few rows or go all the way around?
Have you formed a habit of doing it the same way with every ear of corn?
I have no idea why, but I use holders, butter first, then salt and pepper.
I start with the thin end on the left and start with the left. I go all the way around to about a third of the cob, next third about half around and the thick end third, about a third around.
Buy it the same day it is picked, at a roadside stand or at a grocery that has local corn picked that day. Boil it only until it turns color, about a minute. Spread on butter with your fingers, theyre going to get all buttery anyway, and salt. Start at the thick end on the left, bite into 3 or 4 rows, and work across to the right end. Then start the next 3 or 4 rows. Serve with fresh sliced ripe tomatoes, slathered with Mayo.

Do you butter first, then salt and pepper? Salted butter. No additional salt or pepper.
Do you start with the thin or thick end? Thick end
Do you have the thin end left or right? To the left
Do you start at the left or right? At the right
Do you bite a few rows or go all the way around? I eat from one end to another ( from R to L, and start again from L to R )
Have you formed a habit of doing it the same way with every ear of corn? I never paid attention to it, but I think , I eat it the same way every time.
I have dentures so i just cut the cooked corn off the cob and after butter and salt eat it with a fork,
Definitely eat it the same day it was picked and dont cook it for more than 5 minutes in boiling water, and resist the urge to salt the water...

sounds great but the price at our roadside stand makes it almost out of my price range....Now, the tomatoes, those I have in my garden...
