Same here. Coffee to rev up in the morning, and hot chocolate as a soothing evening drink (in front of a warm fire).

Hot chocolate for me. Melt very dark chocolate , add warm milk ( or cream if feeling naughty), a little cinnamon and enjoy ! Or a good hot cocoa mixture. I can't stand the fake stuff though which tastes chemical , and caramely rather than chocolatey.

This was Giada's favorite wake-up call on The Best Thing I Ever Ate (Food Network). It looked awesome. Next time I'm in NYC, I'm going to try it out.

I prefer hot chocolate. I may be wrong, but most people drink hot chocolate simply because it tastes pleasant, while most people drink coffee not for its taste alone but because of its effects and being used to the routine.

Coffee. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, and most drinking chocolate is overbearingly sugary. There are some that are dark chocolate, and less cloyingly sweet, but I'll still take a strong, flavorful cup of well-brewed coffee any day.

Love my morning coffee - all seasons - but in the winter a soothing cup of hot chocolate is great on a cold afternoon. I put a dab of "extra creamy" cool whip on top - or a spoonful of marshmallow fluff.
