I was just noticing today, that I use my 9x13" sheet pan with 1/2" sides, almost every day. I could not function without it. It is a baking pan, I guess, and what it is meant for, I don't know, but I use it for things like baking sweet potatoes, making a small batch of roasted vegetables, or English muffin pizzas. There are just the two of us.

I had this epiphany (I can be slow witted) when I noticed that it is in my dishwasher every day. In contention, is my T-fall 10" skillet, but I don't use it everyday.

So, which thing is in your dishwasher every day?

I have a bigger baking sheet with sides that I use every day. I don't put it in the dishwasher, I line it with foil before I use it and just discard the foil after baking.

I think your pan might have been a toaster-oven sized pan.

I also use a skillet and a 3 qt saucepan almost every day.

I have a saute pan my brother bought me for Christmas maybe 15 years ago. I use that thing for EVERYTHING!! I have tried to replace it but nothing works half as good.

Also couldn't live without my box grater. I think I paid 1.99 for it years ago. It is worth every penny!!

My 5 qt. sauteuse.

It's so versatile. It's sides are deep enough to make stew or soup, yet low enough to sauté, fry, roast, or bake. It can go from the stovetop or oven, directly to the table as a beautiful serving dish. It's great for making big dinners.

My 6 qt. Le Creuset French oven. I make a lot of soups and stews and it gets used frequently.

The pan I could not live without is my cast iron skillet. It is over 100 years old - I am the 4th generation in my family to use it (my Mom finally let me have it last fall - she has so many, it was only fair).

It never goes in the dishwasher, but it is in use almost daily. On the burner and in the oven. Some of my fish recipes go from burner to oven and back again.

I have other cookware that is "sexier" - some fabulous copper, for example, in lots of shapes in sizes. But my cast iron skillet is my best friend in the kitchen. I absolutely love it.

I have two: the first one is a Staub cast iron braiser, which gets a lot of use. I cook up big batches of chicken pieces or a roast, and cut up and freeze the leftovers. And then I also have a "screen" pizza pan I love... comes in handy for more than pizza... Fries, cookies, biscuits, etc.. I've forgotten the brand of the pizza pan. It didn't cost much, but I've had it for years.
