I'm guessing it wholly depends on where you live. Here in Idaho we choose Winco or Wal-mart. Other areas have Foods For Less, Grocery Outlet or other stores similar.

Sounds strange, but, Big Lots has food products - and sometimes at very discounted prices. Actually, bought a case of cereal in there, twice in the past few weeks [had my favourite, similar to this Kellogg's Cran-Vanilla Crunch Cereal Bars but as a cereal, which has been discontinued ] - for $1.50 a box; normally was $3.50 or higher.

As cleosmom said, totally depends upon where you live/shop. Is there an Aldi's, Sav-A-Lot, etc near you?

We have Gulley's and Big Lots here.

Gulley's gets stuff with dents, dings, or no labels.

Big Lots gets discontinued.

We also have 2 bakery outlets.

I heard that not all the food Big Lots gets is discontinued. Some are overstock.
I sure hope that's right. I just stocked up on the O'coccos cookies for $1 a box, they were selling for $4.89 a box and higher at some health food stores.
Also got "Fantastic" soups for 88cents each, regularly almost $3 at health food sections in stores and health food stores. Why can't they always be the good prices?

Another sort of cheap place for produce anyway is "Food 4 Less."
