Do you take this bride, to have and to hold -- and to eat?

A wife renewing her wedding vows after 10 years of marriage ordered a cake that looks just like her.

I guess, I just do not understand "renewing" vows in the first place. What? they didn't take the first time? what a waste of money. IMHO.

This is an old story - I'm not sure why the OP's news link is current when I remember reading about this back in 2008:

I-Reporter's wedding cake is a full-size likeness of herself - CNN.com

I said it then and I'll say it now - this is just a really bad case of the look-at-mes.

Ditto for me on the renewing vows - did they forget what was said?

That's pretty effective if I wanted to go on a diet and never eat frozen foods and ice cream again.

It'd also make me feel like I'm keeping Medusa's head in my freezer.

I'll have to try this--a frozen head staring back at me as I go for the ice cream! A new diet craze.

I remember it too! I thought it was odd then & I think it's odd now!

It's odd that it's an old story being re-hashed.
And it's odder still that THEIR cake looks like HER.
Just weird.
