I hate icing. It gets yanked off even if it is "artistic".

I prefer more icing than cake...unless it's crap icing. I'm pretty tired of cake these days. We need Cup pies! Oh, and yes I'm not paying some ridiculous price for super fancy looking cupcakes or anything else.

I like the regular ones I make myself. Just a bit of a rise at the top and a smear of frosting. If I want to be fancy I put sprinkles on top. I am not a gourmet cupcake fan at all....all frosting and usually bad cake.

IMO, it's the frosting that makes the cake, taken from someone who eats a piece of cake 365 days a year.

I've been trying hard to find that perfect icing recipe, and finally found it 2 months ago. What was I sorely missing all these years with my icing recipes? Shortening!

I've tasted some frosting that tastes like chemicals! Yuck!

I can't understand the lastest cupcake frinzy. Of course I am not a huge cake eater of any kind and to me cup cakes are something we used to serve at the kids birthday parties cause they were easier to eat than regular cake.

I like for it to look very rich with plenty of frosting. The color of frosting does not matter as long is there is plenty of it.

Me too. Simple, but high quality ingredients, rich silky frosting, and the cake better not be an afterthought. I've had more than one expensive cupcake with dry cake.

I like a thin layer of frosting to cover the entire top of the cupcake. If the edges don't have any frosting on it, I feel cheated. I don't want it to be high. I just want a taste in every bite.

Also, I really don't like buttercreme frosting. So it's need to be cream cheese frosting, or chocolate corn starch frosting. For this reason alone, I rarely ever buy cupcakes and prefer to make them myself.
