Anything that can be made with hot water can be made in a coffee maker. That includes all canned and pouched meals, poached eggs and fish, etc. An electric fry pan is so much better, but if you are stranded in the waiting room at the auto shop, I guess a coffee maker will have to do.

When I was in college my first year in the dorm we made loads of stuff in a popcorn popper. Soup, mac & cheese, and we would make grilled cheese sandwiches with the iron. It wasn't like we were going to iron clothes with it.
