Not sure how you'd do that, Paula Lynn. I poach eggs in the microwave, although I get better results with the poacher I use on top of the stove.

Paula: I am almost certain that the egg will explode in the microwave and splatter itself all over the inside of the oven. I most definately wouldnt do it.

Now the crock pot?????? No experience to draw on....but when I was in japan they used to put eggs (in the shell) overnight in a hot spring (onsen) that was hot but less than boiling. The eggs in the morning were the consistency of very very soft boilded eggs and were especially favored on the breakfast buffet. I don't know if that would be the same in a crock pot. Personally I would just boil them.

When I make potato salad I put my eggs in with the potato to boil; I have convinced myself it adds to the over all deliciosity of my salad.

How funny... you must be my little devil-twin!

Just getting an egg cooked in the microwave is a trick in itself... and I've exploded more than few without the shell, even with one of those microwave egg dishes you're supposed to be able to use... blows the top right off!

So, here's what works for me... get a small bowl, grease it lightly w/butter or margarine (just the lower part where the egg will be), crack open an egg and put the egg in the bowl, bust the yellow (or it will explode)... and cook uncovered a minute... if it's not done enough by then... continue in additional 30-second intervals.

If you are LUCKY it will explode ALL over the inside of your microwave. If you are unlucky it will wait until you open the door or pick it up and explode and possibly cause very severe burns.
