I had my first Gelato in Hawaii, and loved it. I've found a good company for it for here in NJ, Ciao Bella. Their pistachio is YUMMY!

Oh yeah! We lived in Italy for a few years. Divine!

Cantaloupe & pistaccio are some of the best flavors.

I love gelato! I'm Italian, but I've never been to Italy. Haven't had enough money to go there yet, but I really want to considering it's my heritage, and I do have some family over there that I haven't seen in years. I'm looking forward to trying some "real" gelato when I go there!

its not that i dont know the difference, i just dont pretend the difference is bigger than it is.

i actually had some gelato and ice cream yesterday. there is no comparison, the ice cream is so much better. the extra fat and creaminess makes for a much yummier and luxurious product. gelato is just inferior ice cream with a fancy name.

I don't pretend the difference is bigger, in my opinion it really is.

I have to say you probably had some ice cream which people incorrectly call gelato... if you had the real gelato, as much as I respect your opinion, my guess is you would think otherwise.

I've had gelato. I've lived in Italy. In my personal opinion, it's romanticized and over-rated. It's not that different from ice cream.

its kind of silly to suggest otherwise. just by ingredients and how its made, its similar. some people may prefer the lower fat content or the flavor due to the lower air content but you cant pretend they arent similar. the "premium ingredient" and "gelato is an art form" really cant be taken seriously.

i had the vanilla and the chocolate gelato. i had 3 flavors of ice cream last night, it must have been haagen dazs because it was vanilla, cherry garcia and chunky monkey. the ice cream was so creamy and flavorful, it was not a close competition.

I get it if you don't think so, but please at least respect the opinion of people who think otherwise.

i respect the opinion of people who prefer it but there are certain realities that are just facts not opinions. the fact that they are similar, both may or may not be made with or without more "premium" ingredients and im not really sure what to say about the notion that its an art form.
