My Great Uncle just passed away at almost 102 years old in a veterans home. His standing order for lunch every day was 2 plain hot dogs on buns. Some people thought it was because he was senile. Others thought he just liked hot dogs that much.

The real reason is because hot dogs didn't make him tired after eating. He didn't want to take a nap, and miss the best part of the day.

As long as its a real dog, pork or beef, and not turkey or chicken, I could for a week or so. You serve them up different ways. Mustard and onions, sauerkraut, salsa and papaya, pepperjack and chili.

This guy gets national publicity, for going around a big city and eating a hot dog at a different place for 31 days?

I'm tempted to do it myself, just to show how unimpressive an accomplishment it would be. But then I wouldn't bother telling anyone I had done it, because what would be the point? It would only cost me 31 bucks or so. Less than that, they're two-for-99 at all the Valero gas stations. I can get ten of them within walking distance of my house.

How the hell do things like this get on the news? The Boston Globe, fercrissaske? No wonder no American papers have a reporter in the Middle East. They have to keep all their investigative journalistic talent stateside, to answer their phone in the middle of the night and rush out and cover the big stories.

I don't think eating 31 dogs in 31 days is a big deal at all! But the guy who ate 62 Nathan's hotdogs with buns in just 10 minutes on July 4? Nathan's Famous - Overview That's impressive....and disgusting!
