We had steaks yesterday, so I had the leftover bones thrown in a pot for basic stock. I'll spice it up with some chipotle hot sauce I bought cheap as part of a Christmas clearance basket item. I'll add whole garlic cloves to soften, then simmer vegetables and some frozen pork gyoza in it. Maybe I'll thicken the stock up with tahini that's been sitting in the fridge.
So it'll be some kind of wonton soup in hot satay broth. Maybe there's some coconut milk lying around too. Who knows how successful it'll be, but I experiment with random items since there's really no great investment. I doubt it'll taste so bad I can't correct it and have to throw it out.

We got a big piece of cod the other day and, not knowing what else to do with it, I'm winging it:
I have a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies in it, so I'm going to put that in a dutch oven, along with a cup or so of broth, some broccoli spears, maybe some garlic, and the cod. I'm going to let the cod cook and steam itself in there and then serve it over brown rice.
Homemade barbecued pork with steamed rice, green salad and fruit cup.
