There's nothing more comforting than sitting before a crackling fire with a wonderful white wine or glass of sherry on a cold evening. A good book could be thrown in there too.

Hmm, to me this would mean that someone broke into my home and decided to make coffee. But as long as they planned to give me some, I guess that would be comforting.
