I hated mine. So wished I had just got a Hobart Commericial mixer. The Kitchen Aid made to appear commercial but is an awkward ineffective piece of junk. Waste of $600 or whatever it cost.

You will be fine with the mixer you have. I bought my tilt top mixer over 20 years ago and it has been fine for my purposes. I make homemade bread all the time. In fact I paid for my mixer by making bread and bagels and selling them. Just don't make a recipe with more than 6 c. of flour or just finish your kneading by hand if you make an especially large recipe. Most bread recipes are about 6.5 c of flour.

Yes it looked like this but I think the one we had was white.

I don't have sufficient counter space for a stand mixer...the tradeoffs of living in a quaint vintage cottage.

I hear ya. Living in a 1932 Craftsman Bungalow, we have to keep ours put away.

I just saw that Costco is selling a 5.5quart with the 575 watt motor for $219.00. that could be a good compromise. It's got a bigger motor than your "Artisan Pink" one.

Ours is a 1915 Craftsman bungalow. What I lost in counter space and number of bathrooms, I made up in charm and beauty.

This is what I have, but mine is the gray color. I've got the professional series mixer, 4 slice toaster and the double sided waffle maker that all match. I love that mixer.

My mom was telling me about that one! Figures!

Spoke to my husband. He said he knew I was "sold" when I saw the pink one at Williams-Sonoma. LOL He told me if I really liked it and use it enough, I can upgrade in a year. (He must be in a really good mood! )

I actually surprised myself when I fell in love with the pink one. It's so not like me! I tend to go very industrial/commercial when it comes to appliances & electrics, but I figured since the mixer is going to be put away when not in use that I should follow my heart.
