I am starting to discover Korean food and really am enjoying it. Has anyone here ever tried ddeokbokki? What does it taste like? By the looks of it I think it would taste like gnocchi for some reason because it is doughy and in a red sauce.
Those are rice cakes made of rice flour. Usually served with chili paste. They come in different shapes and can be served in hundreds different ways and will acquire the flavor/taste of the sauce/dish. Chewy and tasty.
The Korean's would cook for Vietnam GI's in the war on Sunday's where I was stationed. I remember their Korean BBQ it was called "Pegogi" They cooked it on open coals with onions and kelp. Delicious !
The other thing they served was Kimchi, which tasted great if you got past the smell - I know it doesn't make sense but it is very good, and very hot !!!
